Two Nissan Tiidas won at Summer Festival Events this weekend!

The winner of the brand new Nissan Tiida car at the Summer Festival Oamaru Trots meeting yesterday is Helena Waldron from Oamaru.

Helena won the brand new Nissan Tiida 1.8L automatic, worth $25,000, when she bought a $6 Scoop bet on-course on the Summer Six Pack on Race 6 at Oamaru yesterday.

Helena said “I haven’t really been to the races before but heard the advert for the car on the radio and made sure the family got there for race 6. The kids loved watching the horses, and the whole day only cost me $18 and I came away with a new car!”

The car won at Oamaru yesterday is just one of three that have been up for grabs over the Summer Festival series, which involves 38 family-focused race meetings throughout New Zealand from 26 December to 6 February 2009.

Oamaru Harness Racing Club President Ross Wilson said “The club have put a lot of work into this day but it is worth it to see people on-course having a good time”.

New Zealand Racing Board On-course Marketing Manager Janice Hill said the Summer Festival series had been extremely successful with around a quarter of a million people walking through the gates over the 6 week season.

The finale Summer Festival event where a car must be won is Tauherenikau Races, Friday 6 February (Waitangi Day) (Race 6 at 3.18pm)

The $6 Scoop ticket is a $6 Six Pack Percentage Easybet, which gives customers 32 different computer-generated combinations for the first six horses to cross the finishing line, returning 36 per cent of the Six Pack pool.

The Summer Festival programme is run by the New Zealand Racing Board to assist and support racing clubs to develop the on-course customer experience.
